He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnie Martin and Ruth Martin (Stoe); his son Garry Don Martin; his brothers, Ronald Martin and Larry Don Martin; and his nephew Montie W. Martin.

He is survived by: his nephews, Johnie Dale Martin, Ronnie Martin, Wesley Martin, Steve Brewer, Brett Brewer and Dawayne Howell; his children, Jimmy Walter (Joanna Martin) and Leslee DeAnn; his close friend J. C. Ward; his wife Phyllis Martin; his son Randy D. Martin of McAlester; his son-in-law Ross Cullum of Decatur, TX; his sister Sue; his brother-in-law Ray Brewer of McAlester; his brother Wayne Pettigrew of Oklahoma City; and his grandchildren, Charlie Martin, Jarrod Martin, Flint Martin, Jacey Martin, Katie Burnett, Brittany Goff, Garry Thompson and Jesse Thompson. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
