It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lexie McAlister of McAlester, Oklahoma, who passed away on June 16, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leslie M. Smith and Ruby P. Smith (Williams); her child Lexie; her sister Zella Collins; her daughter Cynthia; and her sons-in-law, Carl Finamore, Butch Justice and Mike Nowling.
She is survived by: her former husband Marvin Edward Briggs; her husband Larry McAlister; her children, Marvin "Marty" Briggs (Michiko) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Nowling of Muskogee; her stepdaughters, Ginny Justice Ledford (Joe) of McAlester and Donna Burris (Jerry) of McAlester; her grandchildren, Angela Eldridge of Tulsa, April Briggs of Mannford, Christina Finamore of McAlester, Marty Nowling of Muskogee, Marvin Briggs of McAlester and Tamae Briggs of McAlester; and her siblings, Bettie Rahmon (Mohamed), Robert Smith (Dorothy) and Richard Smith. She is also survived by many great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
