He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Newport and Sharon Newport (Jones). He is survived by: his wife Tana Marie Wilks; his children, Caden Newport, Garrett Sublette of Atoka, Alex Wilks of McAlester and Michaelanne Hensley of McAlester; his grandchildren, Harmony, LaRiaha, Ruben and Raine; and his siblings, Roberta Bower, Sheryle Spear, Reba Pogue and William Pogue. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
