He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Cassel and Mary Cassel; his siblings, Nevelyn Corbett, Joyce Wolfe and Lee Cassel; and his nephew John Corbett.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Cassel; his siblings, Helen Hancock and Oscar Cassel; his children, Carolyn Hanson (John), Rebecca Cassel, Tim Cassel (Melissa) and Andrew Cassel; his grandchildren, Philip Hanson (Kristianna), Grant Cassel, Brooke Shirk (Owen) and Tommy James; and his great grandchildren, Jett and Levi Hanson.
