He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Carpenter and Lura Carpenter; his brothers, Raymond Carpenter, Jerry Carpenter, Russell Carpenter and Chuck Carpenter; and his granddaughter Emily Laughlin.
He is survived by: his former wife Patsy Beckman of Oakley, KS.; his wife Pat of McLoud; his daughters, Crystal Self (Greg), Sheila Laughlin (Mike) of Jones and Kim (Keith Brooks) of Del City; his brothers, Terry Carpenter of Austin, TX and Ernest Carpenter of Roland; his grandchildren, Collin Self, Jamie (Cade Baade), Grace (Mitchell Johnson), Madison James, Taylor Brooks and Luke Laughlin; and his great grandchildren, Isaac Self, Evelyn Self and Celia Baade.
