He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellis Kimbrough and Ruby Kimbrough; and his brother James Kimbrough. He is survived by: his son Carl Gene Kimbrough, Jr. (Renee Pouncil); his grandchildren, Jordan Kimbrough, Michael Kimbrough, Colby "Trey" Lawson and RaeAnn Dawn Kimbrough; his brother Alvin Kimbrough (Becky); and his nieces, Jennifer Groff (Mike Ramsey) and Amanda Anderson (Aaron).
