He was predeceased by : his parents, Andrew Jackson Pruitt (A. J.) and Etta Ephema Pruitt (Womack); his sisters, Addie B. Pruitt and Clorene Pruitt (Nelson); and his grandchildren, Pamela Pruitt and Christopher Mayo Pruitt.

He is survived by : his wife Evelyn L. Pruitt (Reed); and his sons, Jack David Pruitt (Carolyn) and James Jeffrey Pruitt (Terri). He is also survived by two nieces, eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
