He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Graham Hale and Leota Hale; and his sister Phyllis Hale Logan. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Fulton Hale; his children, Kimberlee Hale Lynch (Michael Lynch), Gray Hale, Dana Hale McLean (Randy McLean) and Anja Hale; his grandchildren, Halee Lynch, Clay Lynch, Dara McLean Korn and Mauri McLean; and his great grandchild Carter Lynch.

Memorial donations for S. G. may be made in honor of his special relationship with his daughter, Anja Hale.
