Carter Austin Reed Obituary

Carter was born on Mother's Day May 10, 1992, to Thomas Reed and SoRay Carter. He grew up in Piedmont where he played baseball and graduated from Piedmont High School in 2011. After graduation, Carter worked a few random jobs until finding his professional calling working for Avant Plumbing where he began his career as a plumber. Carter later went on to become a valuable member of the team of Orcutt Plumbing where he worked in the commercial construction industry. He always enjoyed his work and went the extra mile to make sure a job was completed to the highest professional standards.

Carter had many interests and hobbies including snowboarding, wake surfing, wakeboarding and playing golf. His true passion was in motorcycles and racing. He raced many years in the OCCRA circuit in the Pro class where he was respected and admired by many friends and competitors in the racing community. Carter's "happy" place was on his boat or on the beaches of Lake Eufaula where he loved all his lake family and friends. He was always the life of the party. The true love of Carter's life was his daughter, Avery. Carter was a hands-on, loving, and devoted father. His eyes lit up every time he was with his precious baby girl, and he had the sweetest way of calling her "honey".

Carter was unfortunately taken from this world on the evening of January 13, 2022, after spending a joyful day with his father and friends while riding his motorcycle. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bucky and Beverly Reed as well as his paternal uncle and aunt Bobby and Debbie Reed. Carter is survived by his daughter, Avery Reed and parental partner, Makensie Henry of Bartlesville, OK; his maternal grandparents, Bill and Linda Black of OKC; his father, Thomas Reed and Dawn Herrera of OKC; his mother, SoRay Carter and Steve Ranney of Piedmont; step father, Jason Carter of Yukon; siblings, Blakelee and Carson Carter of Piedmont, Megan Nieman and her daughters, Peighton and Berkley of OKC, and Austin McClung of OKC; aunts and uncles, Cleve and Tonya Wheeler of Piedmont, Stuart and Tabitha McCuan of OKC; cousins, Quent and Kirsten Wheeler, Mackenzie and Peyton McCuan of OKC, Madison and Cutter Reed of Eugene, OR, Melanie Berry, Melese Hedrick of OKC, Derek Jester of Eugene, OR, as well as countless friends that considered him a brother or son.
