He was predeceased by: his parents, Herschel Messenger and Ethel Messenger (Petty); his wife Alice; his son Kendall Lee Messenger; and his siblings, Lucille Fiscus, Edith Wells and Kenneth Messenger.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Hill (Frank) of Oklahoma City, OK and Twila Hornback (Rick) of Brownsburg, IN.; his grandchildren, Craig Hill (Jaclyn) of Keller, TX, Chris Hill (Aubrey) of Katy, TX, Tyler Hornback (Emily) of Lizton, IN and Shelby Hull (Bailey) of Dallas, TX.; and his great grandchildren, Chance, Nolan, Benson Hill, Mallory, James, Luke Hill and Mac Hornback.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Sumner Cemetery (3362 IL-250, Sumner, IL 62466).
