He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar B. Davis and Birdie Smith Davis; and his son David Lee Davis. He is survived by: his wife Marjory Ann Guthrie; his daughters, Margaret A. Michael Betty L. and Firth; his half-sister Elizabeth Davis Bowman; and his grandchild Fifteen. He is also survived by Fifteen great grandchildren.
