He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom M. Riggs and Amy Coy Riggs (Mauldin); his stepfather A. C. Barrett (Chester); and his brothers, Hosea Victor Riggs, Fred Riggs and Waymen Riggs.
He is survived by: his son Russell Ray Riggs (Wanda); his grandchild Michell Riggs; his son Richard Roy Riggs (Vicki); his grandchildren, Jennifer R. Harmon, Patricia Riggs, Ashley Semenick and Brett Werry; his great grandchild Randell Reid Riggs (Janine); Thomas Reid Riggs, Taylor Rae Riggs and Travis Randell Riggs. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
