He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Harper and Claud Harper; and his siblings, Ophelia Mae Higgins, Ralph Otis Harper, Aubrey Earl Harper and Johnnie Delett Harper.

He is survived by: his grandson Jay II; his son Jay Harper; his brother Bob; his son Jay Virgil (Debbie) of Pauls Valley; his grandchildren, Jay Virgil Harper II (Katie) of Norman and Elizabeth Harper of Chicago, Illinois; his sister Oleta Faye Manley of Ardmore; Jay. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, P O Box 490, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma 73075.
