He is survived by: his wife Kathy Jo; his children, Leon Thornburg (Cheryl) of Poteau, Bobby Thornburg (Charissa) of Katy, Oklahoma, Kim Reames and Jeanna Phipps (Kevin) of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and his stepdaughter Nikki Chitwood (Billy) of Pocola, Oklahoma. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of family, friends.
