He was predeceased by : his parents, Mary Ellen (Ferro) and Matthew Escalante; his son Chad Escalante; and his brothers, Roy Eugene Escalante and Allen Escalante.

He is survived by : his wife Brenda Escalante; his children, Susan Breakfield (Nickolas) of Waldron, AR and Tony Escalante (Valarie) of Greenwood, AR; his brother George Escalante (Pat) of Rosewell, NM; and his grandchildren, Ahlexis Escalante, Brooklyn Escalante, Matthew Alvie Escalante, Miranda Barone, Shane Davis, Chase Cardenas, Maegann Acevedo and Chelsea Escalante.
