He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Pat Trotter; his children, Willie Trotter of Poteau, Kyle Trotter of Poteau, Lucas Trotter of Shady Point, Patrick Trotter of Shady Point, Kevin Reed (Alicia) of Homestead, Florida and Christy Reed of Poteau, Oklahoma; his siblings, Bob Trotter, Isabell Creech, Iola Winters, Carol Dickson and Helen Merritt; his grandchildren, Karli, Luke Chesner, Cassie Beger, Allie Ramsey, Maddie Ramsey, Steven Reed, Brooklynn Reed, Quentin Reed, Ryan Lloyd, Alston Lloyd, Lauryn Trotter, Rilyn Trotter, Aubree Odle, Allie Odle, Ruby Trotter and Raylee Chesner; his brother Alford Trotter; and his grandfather Bill. He was also cherished by numerous other relatives, loved ones and friends.
