He was predeceased by: his parents, Olia Mae Black (Shelton) and Robert Lee Black, Sr.; his wife Patsy Black; and his brothers, Robert Black, Jr. and Melvin "Joe" Black.
He is survived by: his daughter Sonya Miller of Oklahoma City; his sister Rosemary Bartling of Shawnee; and his grandsons, Spencer Miller and Preston Miller of Texas. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
