He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Aaron Newell and Ellen Levina Newell (Goins); his wife Kathey Gay Cottman; and his brother James Newell. He is survived by: his children, Kristin Lomenick (Carl), Micah Newell (Terri) of Ratliff City and Seth Newell (Dana) of Ratliff City; his sister Genny Whitt (Dave) of Alma; his grandchildren, Sean Newell, Dominic Newell (Chloe), Chloe Newell, Kennedy Newell (Cayden Perkins), Be'la Cox (Arlis), Ciana Carpenter (Jaden), Jameson Newell and Gabriel Lomenick; and his great grandchildren, Kimberlynn Newell, Katelynn Newell, Karsyn Newell, Kamryn Newell and Benjamin Newell.
A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ratliff City Cemetery Pavilion.
