With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jerry Franklin Matthews of Shawnee, Oklahoma, born in Bakersfield, California, who passed away on January 12, 2022 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, Perry Franklin Matthews and Bertha Lillian Fullerlove; his sister Wanda June Penson; his brother-in-law Lloyd Penson; his brothers, Bill Matthews and Jack Matthews; his sister-in-law Ruby Matthews; and his siblings' children, Billy Matthews and Phyllis Plumlee.

He is survived by: his wife Roberta Matthews; his sons, Clay Nelson of Shawnee and Jerry Matthews, Jr. of Shawnee; his brother Charles (Pat) of Seminole; his granddaughter Macy Nelson of Shawnee; and his sibling's children, Cash Matthews, Carey Matthews, Randy Penson, Larry Penson, Dennis Penson and Betty Matthews.
