Merletta Bennett Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 4, 2021, at the age of 83, Merletta Bennett of Shawnee, Oklahoma, born in Shamrock, Texas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her son-in-law Mark Betterton; her parents, Grover Lamb and Mildred Lamb; and her siblings, Jimmy Lamb (Vivian) and Claudia Dowdy (Bobby).
She is survived by: her husband Jerry Bennett of Shawnee; her children, Kirk Bennett (Lisa) of Amelia Island, Karen Manner (David) of Topeka and Karla Betterton of Shawnee; and her grandchildren, Halley Bennett of Madrid, Spain, Adam Betterton (Kirsten) of Rock Springs, Bailey Machuca (Diego) of Charlotte, Jill Bussey (Draye) of Oklahoma City and Jessa Swearingen (Cullen) of Topeka, Kansas.. She is also survived by mom, who always put her children first, adored grandparent, and a beloved wife.
In order to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19, the family will honor our mom and grandmother on Thursday, October 7, in a private service at Immanuel Baptist Church.
