She was predeceased by : her parents, James McElfresh and Maggie McElfresh; and her children, Larry Byrd, Dale Byrd and Carla Johnson.

She is survived by : her children, Bill Byrd (Beverly), Donna Buchanan (Max) and Glen Byrd; her children-in-law, Sandra Byrd and James Johnson; and her siblings, Genevieve Hensley and Jacky Wayne McElfresh. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
