He was predeceased by : his parents, John M. Daniel and Margaret O'dell Bowen Daniel; his wife Alma; his sons, Ricky Ellis and Barry Ellis; his grandson Chad Ellis; and his siblings-in-law, Herbert Sanders and Beverly White.

He is survived by : his children, Tammy Latimer, Tom Daniel (Sharyl), Kim Lackey (Gary) and Pam King (Gary); his daughter-in-law Diane Gilmore; his grandchildren, Zach Caldwell (Lisa), Tobie Jones (Matt), Jonathan Daniel, Bradianne Roberson (Trey), Shelby Davis (Trevor), Trent Lackey, Carey Whaley, Kelly Stokes, Tori Lankford (Zach), Angela, Jenny, Beth, Ben Ellis and Heather Mendez; his brother Johnny Daniel (Nola); and his siblings-in-law, Audie Sanders (Wanda), Jack Sanders, Jerry Sanders, Glenn Sanders (Phyllis) and Nancy Sanders. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins; and beloved dog.
