He was predeceased by: his parents, Staley Buchanan and Clyde Buchanan (Gwinns); his former wives, Betty Sleets and Mavis Buchanan; his son-in-law Mickey Lovett; his granddaughter Samantha Buchanan; and his brothers, Roy Buchanan, Troy Buchanan, Alton Neal Buchanan, Lewis Ray Buchanan and Junior Buchanan.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Buchanan; his children, Larry Buchanan (Lettie) of Louisville, Billy Joe Buchanan (Donna) of Chandler, Connie Jacobs (David) of Elizabethtown, Cindy Lovett of Purcell and Patricia Buchanan of Purcell; and his brother Mack Buchanan (Diane). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
