She was predeceased by: her parents, Fanny Faye Carrier (Tanksley) and Ikey James Carrier; and her sister Wanda McDaniel (Odell Fanning). She is survived by: her daughters, Marsha Fanning (Laverna Bishop) and April Clark (Michael); her grandchildren, Madeline Clark and Aaron Clark; and her sister Linda Simpson.
