He was predeceased by: his wife Bernadean "Wells" Sweet; his parents, Edgar Sweet and Helen Sweet; his sisters, Linda Pippin and Betty Ratliff; and his brothers-in-law, Clifford Beavers, Ralph "Buddy" Chambers, W. C. Pippin, Bill Ruth and James Daves.
He is survived by: his children, Bernadean, Jack LaDean (Margie), Dena Diane (Randall Tibbett), Eddie Vaughn, Martin Gene (Amy), Gary Don (Angie), Jerry Lee (Jennifer) and Terry Ray (Abby); his siblings, J. E. Sweet (Vicki), Frank Sweet (Treila), Mickey Sweet (Janice), Zeta Ewing, Violet Chambers, Evelyn (Melvin Rosstier), ImaJean (Joe Rossiter) and Sherry (Dale Ellis); his parents-in-law, Donald and Bertha Wells; his sister-in-law Imogene Daves; and his granddaughters, Sissy Lee Tibbett, Kadesha Marie Sweet and Cherish Dae Sweet. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grand-children, many friends.
