He was predeceased by: his parent Methodist. He is survived by: his daughters, Penny Oss (Holt Welton) and Jacqueline DiPillo (Welton); his grandchildren, Megan (DiPillo), Zach Wood of Raleigh, NC, Rachel DiPillo of Santa Monica, CA, Danielle DiPillo of Los Angeles, CA, Jason Oss of Arpelar, OK, Christen (Oss), Mark Clark, Hannah (Oss) and Anthony Duff of McAlester; his great grandchildren, Aria, Vincent, Karis Wood, Aorion Duff and Sylvia Clark; his brother George Welton; his siblings' children, Edward Welton of Harrah, OK and Victoria Love (Nelson); his brother Victor A. Welton of McAlester; his sister-in-law Ida Joy Welton (Grubbs); and his nephew George Curtis Welton of Harrah, OK..

In 2020, Welton survived COVID-19, having no respiratory symptoms.
