He was predeceased by: his parents, Jake Newton Sumner and Ethel Elizabeth Echols Sumner; and his siblings, Dorothy Baker (Frank), Mildred Tayrien (Joe), Shirley Swan (Aubrey), Bill, Mike and Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Lynn Blake; his sons, Alan Sumner (Paula) and Scott Sumner (Bonita); his siblings, Evelyn Revard of Dewey, OK, James "Chico" Sumner of Gore, OK, Jerry Sumner of Ochelata, OK and Jesse Sumner of Ramona, OK; his granddaughters, Hannah (Sam McCoy) of Arbuckle, CA, Rachel (Jacob Vaughn) of McKee, KY, Elizabeth (Paul Dunn) of Martinsville, VA, Ruth (Jeff Schneider) of La Jose, PA, Rhoda and Sarah Sumner of Honduras; and his great grandchildren, Adalynn McCoy, Kaylee McCoy, Mariah McCoy, Grayson Vaughn and Kari McCoy. He is also survived by one of eleven children and was the first of seven sons.
