He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Aloysius Scherer and Mary Laura Baruzzini Scherer; and his granddaughter Mary Lynette Dennis. He is survived by: his wife Gay Scherer; his children, Stephanie L. Dennis (Ben) of Lawrence, Jenny M. Birks (Brandon) of Tulsa and David D. Scherer (Danielle) of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Olivia Dennis, Bailey Birks, Dane Scherer, Estelle Scherer, Betsy Scherer, Peter Jerome Scherer and Lois Scherer; and his siblings, John Scherer of Mt Zion, Jim Scherer (Fran) of Edmonton and Mary Frances Brilley (Tom) of Corinth, Mississippi. He is also survived by many friends and extended family.
