He is survived by: his brother James; his stepmother Mary; his children, Richard Axel Jr. (Erin), Thomas Bond (Stacy), Jamie Pedersen (Corey Smith) and Robert John (Amber); and his grandchildren, Jennifer, Kimberly, Rachel, Eric, Abigail, Briana, Kathryn, Isabella and Victoria.
