He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Alfonzo Henry, Apolonia Upman, David and Bertha Little; and his father Elmer Thomas Upman.

He is survived by: his mother Belva Ann Upman (Little); his son David Upman; his sisters, Debra Wilson (James) and Tammy Powell (Bill); and his stepbrother Larry Wayne Nuckolls. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
