She is survived by: her significant other Don Staires; her half-sister LaVon Tolbert (Ed Tolbert); her children, Michael Staires (Lainey), Kelly Staires Gibson (Gip Gibson), Sally Staires Mulready (Glen Mulready) and Clay Staires (Lisa); her grandchild Meg Staires (Joe Newhall); her great grandchildren, Gus, Lilly and Molly Staires Carman (Brady Carman); and also, Margaret, Milo, Riley Staires (Laney), Sophie Staires (Aaron Angelo), Jordan Staires (Emily), Sutton, Sullivan Staires (Zoe), Callahan, Jonah Staires, Grace Gibson, Taylor Melendez, Gage Gibson, Emily Van Dyk, Sam Mulready, Jake Mulready, Will Mulready, Madisson Staires and Clare Staires.
In lieu of flowers, Shirley requested that donations be made in her memory to Shepherd's Fold Ranch.
