He was predeceased by: his parent Jean Dowdell (Pickett); his brother Robert; his brother-in-law Arnold Junger; and his father Thomas McSherry. He is survived by: his siblings, Jean Junger (Arnold), Richard Dowdell (Noreen) and Judge John Dowdell (Rochelle); his siblings' children, Matthew Dowdell (Jenny), Kathleen Dowdell Manning (Colin), Thomas J. Dowdell (Kelsey), Christina Hardway (Jim), Amy Putman (Steve), Philip Junger (Amy), Andrew Junger (Chelsea), Jack Dowdell (Molly), Joseph Dowdell, Edward Dowdell and Gabe Dowdell; and his friend Bill.
