He was predeceased by : his parents, Archie Nichols and Mary Francis Nichols (McBurney); his wives, Mary Nichols (Bozarth) and Barbara Nichols (Hosea); and his siblings, Helen Crane, Florence Richardson, Betty Meyer and Paul Nichols.

He is survived by : his children, Roy Nichols (Karen) of New York, Cheryl Soares (Mike) of Houston, Christi Vanderlip (Danny) of Wellston, Leslee Nichols and Kellis Nichols of Wellston; and his brother Melvin Nichols (Helen) of Bartlesville. He is also survived by grandchildren, (1) great-grandson.
