He was predeceased by : his parents, Barry Jr. Carter and Bertha Lee Carter (Tillery); his siblings, Linda Carl, Bessie Jordan and Tommy Carter; his son Daniel Hubbard Carter; his nieces and nephews, Tonya Carter, Kimberly Long, Teddy Harjo, Christopher Lynn Carter and Buddy Shatswell; his great-niece Tiffany Long; his great-nephews, Cody Shatswell and Gunner Gill; and his brother-in-law Clifford Rogers (Bud).

He is survived by : his fiancée Viola Snow; and his sisters, Katie Shatswell (Buddy Wayne Shatswell) of Sayre, Diane Rogers of Elk City, Vicki Lunsford of Burns Flat and Janie Carter of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins along with family and friends.
