He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Charles Kotaniemi and Hulda Kotaniemi; his wife Helen; his sister Helen Johnson of Marquette, Michigan; and his children, Steven of Astoria, Jeffrey of Eugene, Michael of Ilwaco, Washington, Sandra Ogier of Hillsboro and Cynthia Kotaniemi of Portland. He was also cherished by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
