He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, John Nicholas Ficken and Angela Elaine Ficken (McGovern); his wife Dawn Colleen Headley; his daughter Heather Ficken-Sovince (Ben); his grandchildren, Callahan and Clayton; his son Jason Ficken; his grandchildren, Hunter, Alice and Fiona; his siblings, Molly Brown (Leonard), Mindy Sloper (Ron), Tracy Gray and Jack Ficken (Teresa); his sisters-in-law, Sandra Kienholz (Chuck) and Roxanne Headley; and his cousin Mike Roby. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Astoria High School athletics, the local Clatsop County 4-H scholarship fund or the Astoria FFA chapter.
