He was predeceased by: his parents, Geoffrey Timmings and Rhoda Timmings (Hamilton); and his sisters, Delores Haynes and Donna Perini. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Peterson; his sons, Richard A. "Rick" (Shannon Peterson) and Jake Peterson of Gaston, Oregon; his brother Dean; his sister-in-law Janet Peterson of Forest Grove; his sisters, Sherri Wood (Bill Graves) and Linda (Byron Richardson); and his grandchildren, Rachel, Riley, Nicolas, Madison, Makayla, Kayden and Kaylee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association) and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
