She was predeceased by: her parents, Byron Kling and Elizabeth Kling (Pricer); her husband Rex Phipps; her brother Mike Kling; and her son-in-law Fred Menke.

She is survived by: her sister Sharon Brown of Newton; and her children, Mindy Menke, Diane Burnham (Bruce) and Mark Phipps (Clara). She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
