He was predeceased by : his parents, Lloyd Ewing and Lucille Ewing (Tribbett); and his brother Michael Ewing. He is survived by : his former life partner Ellen Lindell; his wife Anne Van Sickle; his sister Yvonne (Pat); his brother-in-law Leonard Dooley; his children, Robin Ewing and Adam; his daughter-in-law Tracy Ewing; and his grandsons, Garrett, Austin and Evan Ewing. He is also survived by nieces/nephews.
