He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Winkels and Eva Winkels; his wife Barbara Dean Winkels; and his sisters, Joann Christie, Betty Shrum and Mary Francis.
He is survived by: his children, John of Huntington Beach, CA, Scott of Tigard, Craig of Alexandria, VA and Laura of Portland; and his siblings, George Winkels, Eunice Winkels, Donna Sherman and Shirley Long. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren.
