He was predeceased by: his parents, Clover Cadwell and Harriet Cadwell (Hanel); his wives, Bess Ash Cadwell and Bobbi Shintaffer; and his brother Jim Cadwell.
He is survived by: his sons, Donald Cadwell Jr. of Portland and Dan Cadwell of Williamsburg, VA; his grandchildren, Andrew, Shannon, Jane (Williamsburg) and Ben (Portland); and his sisters, Judy Nibler of Salem and Carolyn Kather of Portland. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
