It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anita Katherine Schmitt of Portland, Oregon, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on November 27, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her son Greg Schmitt; her husband Edwin Schmitt; and her brother Mathias Herberholz. She is survived by: her children, Steven Schmitt of Washington, MO and Karen Kottkamp (Sheil) of Portland, OR; her daughter-in-law Debbie Schmitt of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Scott, Jaclyn, Brooke, Kelsey and Sydney; and her siblings-in-law, Darlene Davis (Bob), Marilyn Forthaus and John Belluso. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franklin County Humane Society or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
