He was predeceased by: his son P. J. Patterson. He is survived by: his wife Colleen Elizabeth Mohr; his son Mike; his daughter-in-law Teresa Patterson; his daughters, Robin and Molly Patterson; his daughter-in-law Jeanie Patterson; his parents-in-law, Brendan, Laura Patterson, Jeffery, Nikki Patterson, Riley Patterson and Michelle Patterson; and his great grandchildren, Chase, Anneva, Reuben, Piper and Tirzah.
