He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Raymond Schafer and Jennie Schafer (Wooley); his brother Glenn Schafer; his son Donald Schafer; his wife Jennie Schafer of Happy Valley; and his children, Barbara Beauchemin, Robert Schafer of San Diego, CA, Kenneth Schafer of Vallejo, CA and Shukhrat Arifdjanov (Oydin) of Sandy, OR. He was also cherished by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
