He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolf Simantel and Marie Simantel; and his siblings, Diana, Elaine, Judith, Paul, Warren, Ronald, Harlan and Steven.
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Gross; his son Paul Simantel (Jeanette); his grandson Jared Painter (Ashley); his great grandchild Eli Painter; and his brother Gary Simantel (Eline). He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Willamette National Cemetery (11800 SE Mt Scott Blvd, Portland, OR 97086).
