He was predeceased by: his son Menzi Mkhize. He is survived by: his wife Thembeka C. Mason; his parents, Willie Mason and Mary Mason; his siblings, Norman Mason (Alfreda) and Norma Latham (Clive); his children, Chike Mason (Pam), Obi, Sdu Mkhize and Khanya Mkhize (Justin Shaw); his grandchildren, Amari Akil, Anaya Kweli, Refentse Gabriela, Zenzile Moon and Senzo Lee; and his godmother Martha McKoy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
