He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sr. Gonczi and Helen Gonczi (Hornyak); and his wife Frances Gonczi (Kwolek). He is survived by: his daughters, Delores Schwarz (Jacob) and Deborah Daliman (Daniel); his grandson Jacob "Drew" Schwarz III; his siblings, Thomas Gonczi (Linda) and Mary Gonczi; his sister-in-law Jane Malloy; and his siblings' children, Diane, Kathy, Jack, Eddie, Tom and Chuck. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
