Gilchrist (Aliquippa, Pennsylvania), born in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, who passed away on September 14, 2018, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. February 20, 1944 - September 14, 2018 Gary L. "Butch Gilchrist, 74, of Aliquippa, passed away Friday September 14, 2018 in Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley, Beaver. Born February 20, 1944 in Sewickley, he was a son of the late Arthur and Mary (Parker) Gilchrist. Gary was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War; a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 862, and was a classic car enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Dercole, and Donna Davison, and a brother, Arthur Regis Gilchrist. Surviving are his children, Gary (Toni) Gilchrist, Terri Riegle, Vera Gilchrist Gregory, Jeff (Ragen) Gilchrist, and Danielle (Chris) Martin; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren, a brother, Robert "Sonny" (Rhonda) Gilchrist, and many loving nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm at Tatalovich Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa, Pa., 15001, where a service will be held Thursday at 11am, with Rev. Zack Blair, officiating, followed by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 862 conducting military honors. The family suggests, in honor of Gary, to please come dressed in your car cruise, veteran, or patriotic attire. Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 682 will conduct a white rose ceremony Wednesday at 7pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 862, P.O. Box 26, Rochester, Pa 15074.
