He is survived by: his parent Julia Kern (Jakesz); his sons, Michael Kern and Christopher Kern; his grandchildren, Annie, Melissa, Britt, Scott and Lynn; and his great grandchildren, Adrianna and Jacob. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
