He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas McGovern and Regina McGovern (Knast); his son Ronald James McGovern Jr.; and his siblings, Linda and Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Judy McGovern (Harpster); his daughter Carolynn McGovern; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Rowan and Gavin Kessler; his siblings, Regina Wieland (Thomas) and Paul McGovern; and his sister-in-law Jennie Basiago (Amjad Hachwa).
